Washougal

The town’s logo touts KEEP DISCOVERING WASHOUGAL.  There certainly is much to see and do in this little city east of Vancouver, Washington, framed by the banks of the Washougal and Columbia Rivers. Family-oriented parks, numerous hiking trails over scores of acres, and dozens of businesses and diverse neighborhoods are why 14,500 residents call this activity-filled place home.  It is hard to believe you are only twenty minutes from Portland International Airport.

Reflection Plaza is the center of many community events downtown, as is the Two Rivers Heritage Museum.  More than one hundred years old, this town celebrates its historical connection to the Lewis and Clark Expedition one hundred years before Washougal’s founding.  Via a pedestrian tunnel, visitors can walk from downtown to the Columbia River to fish, hike, bird watch the more than two hundred species recorded there, and enjoy year-round recreation including kayaking, fishing and swimming.

Pendleton Woolen Mills calls Washougal home, and new business owners are welcomed and offered networking partnership with other companies in both Washougal and its neighboring city on the Columbia River, Camas.

Scattered around the town and the neighboring hillsides are home sites and developed properties as well as pristine open land.  You can find nearly any size “haven with a view” and then settle in to keep discovering Washougal.
